WA Build Back Black Alliance Partners
Under a unified mission to create generational wealth and economic prosperity, the Washington Build Black Alliance (WBBA) emerged in the fall of 2020. The coalition of non-profit executives and business leaders from historically marginalized communities vowed to join forces for the greater good – connecting young people with experienced professionals while advocating together through cooperative education. This groundbreaking move has greatly bolstered support for BIPOC across our great state. The WBBA identifies as a “By and For organization.”
WBBA Mission: The Washington Build Back Black Alliance (#WBBA) stands out as a leader in advocacy and education for the Black and BIPOC community. We make bold statements that drive the conversation on public policy at all levels of government. Our organization unites both CBOs and minority business leaders who are devoted to achieving racial equity through six core areas: Economic Development, Environmental Justice, Digital Equity, Healthcare Disparities, Criminal Justice Reform, and Food Insecurity. This visionary collective brings with them more than 60 years of national experience related to public policies and unwavering dedication towards progress regarding furthering key causes around social justice.
Vision: With resounding clarity and conviction, we give voice to those who are often unheard and unseen.
Membership: Our goal is to remain true to this mission therefore membership is by invite only— and capped at 20 of the most prominent organizations we believe are transformational in the lives of our communities of color.
The Washington Build Back Black alliance is an invitation-only strategic partnership-based membership.

Our Goals
Build a united black voice that bridges all ages, genders, ideology, and societal norms in the black community.
Build a black advocacy voice
that is present at all levels of government; we are not a monolith and our issues cannot be couched under BIPOC issues.
Build back black businesses. The black business has been the heartbeat of the black community since reconstruction.
Build back black generational wealth. We have witnessed an erosion of equity in the black community through the loss of home and land ownership, coupled with health and educational disparities.
Build back black communities. Gentrification has displaced what was once burgeoning black communities. The WBBBA wants to reinvest, reinvigorate, and revitalize black communities throughout Washington.
